All I Want Is You (Song of the Week)

For as long as he’s been mine, the munchkin and I have loved to sing songs together. Especially in the evenings when I’m making dinner and it’s been a long day, singing a happy song can brighten things up and bring in the good vibes.

I used to share the songs we were signing here on the blog as a “Song of the Week,” but I stopped when it didn’t seem like there was much of an interest. Then a couple weeks ago I started getting emails and comments about the songs. Turns out folks did like them and wanted to me to keep posting them too. :)

So here’s a song we’ve been singing a lot lately: it’s called “All I Want Is You” and is sung by The Vespers. The song is from the opening credits of the movie “Juno” and was written with a young man and his sweetheart in mind. But if you ask me, with sweet phrases like “if you were a wink, I’d be a nod” this song is perfect for singing with children too. Sometimes when I sing this with the munchkin I’ll change the line “all I want is you, will you be my bride” to “all I want is you, will you be my guy.” Puts a smile on our faces and a bounce in our step every. time.
